I am an ESL educator and teach students from a variety of different language backgrounds- from Bengali to French; Nepali to Spanish; Arabic to Dari to Bosnian to Vietnamese. In addition to holding a primary endorsement in ESL, I am also endorsed as a History and Social Studies teacher. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and am completing a Master of Education degree at the University of Mary Washington, where I am currently conducting research on how communities of practice can be used in a language learning context to support English Language Learners. Prior to teaching, my previous work includes facilitating and coordinating international academic exchange programs. Currently, I teach in central Virginia, and am fortunate to work with a group of wonderful students and educators at one of the most diverse schools in the state.
